Message from C.A.R. State Pesident, Kristen Meilahn regarding the State President's Project.

Folds of honor is a non profit who provides higher education and children’s fund scholarships for the dependents of fallen or disabled military and first responders. This company is headquartered in Owasso Oklahoma began in 2007 and has awarded more than 62,000 scholarships. Scholarships are used to subsidize the costs of tuition, required textbooks for courses. K-12 private school and Tuition for an accredited tutoring company.

I am thrilled to support Folds of Honor and set a goal to raise $5,000. The amount of one full scholarship.

The National Society of the Children of the American Revolution is an organization of persons through 21 years of age who are lineal descendants of a patriot of the American Revolution.

The C.A.R. is an independent organization which looks to the DAR, SAR and SR for its leadership and financial support.  The C.A.R. needs adult leaders, financial support and members.  A member of the SAR may hold a "Senior" office in a local, state, regional or the National Society C.A.R.  Direct descendants of SAR and DAR members age birth to 22 years are eligible for membership.

The C.A.R. has six primary objectives in its Bylaws; these objectives are the foundation of the organization.

1. To acquire knowledge of American History.


2. To preserve and restore places of Historical importance associated with men and women who forwarded American Independence.


3. To ascertain the deeds and honor the memories of the men, women and children who rendered service to the cause of the American Revolution.


4. To promote the celebration of patriotic anniversaries.


5. To honor and cherish the Flag of the United States of America above every other flag.


6. To love, uphold and extend the principles of American liberty and patriotism.

Membership: Children and Grandchildren of SAR members may apply to be members of the C.A.R. through local societies across the country.  Visit the C.A.R. website at http://www.nscar.org to find a local society near you.  Members gain invaluable leadership experience in conducting meetings, following parliamentary procedures and standard protocol, serving as delegates and speaking before groups at local, state, regional and national conferences.

SAR Support: Every SAR state society and local chapter should have a C.A.R. chairman or liaison officer who focuses support and encouragement on this very worthwhile youth organization.  It is encouraged to award members of the C.A.R. SAR and DAR for their outstanding work given to the C.A.R. with the SAR/C.A.R. medals of appreciation or other appropriate medals for their support/service to the C.A.R.   Guidelines for presentation of the medals can be found in the NSSAR's Handbook, Volume III, page 14.
